One of the most famous genres of movies in Hollywood these days is superhero movies. When ace director Christopher Nolan adapted comic-series Batman, he proved comic-adaptations could perform like regular movies. Following this, Marvel Studios started a series of interconnected superhero films and changed the whole game. People became die-hard fans of superheroes, and the films' merchandise became the highest selling toys in the market. Other filmmakers followed suit and continued the newly-discovered tradition.
